Holidays bring hustle and stress to so many of us. This is the time of year when I try to slow down and remember all that I'm thankful for. Thanksgiving not only brings us food, family, friends and football, but a day to honestly be thankful. Christmas I feel the same only more faith bound. I've had some rough spots this year and I'm certain there are more to come. You have to look at it that way. It's just part of the big plan.. the supposed to be.
If we just look at the smaller things in our lives and be thankful for what we HAVE rather than what we do not, we will have more in the end. Does that make sense? If you worry about all you could've, would've, should've or just plain don't have... what you already have will never be enough.
I'm thankful and blessed with my beautiful children even if I sometimes feel they're blessings in disguise. My family and friends, the love in my life. I have a home. I struggle to pay for it, it has no heat or AC, but I have one nonetheless. I'm thankful for my fireplace! The food I have even if my kids constantly eat all the "good stuff" in one day. I'm thankful I have a car... and it runs! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I'm thankful for the mild winters here in the Old Pueblo. I'm thankful for my big dopey dog who loves me unconditionally, no matter how I act or what I say. I'm thankful for laughter.. laughter is contagious! The clothes on my back, my health, my childrens health, for not only having a job, but one I absolutely love! And of course, Music. One of the most powerful things in the world. I'm thankful for much more, but really, what more do I need?
Hoping you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and took that moment to be thankful for all you have.
