Journal Broadcast Group invests
$1.5 Million in Tucson

November 18, 2008: Journal Broadcast Group - Tucson Operations, which operates Mega 106.3 & 104.9, 94.9 Mix-FM, 104.1 The Truth, and ESPN Radio 1490 The Fan and local TV stations KGUN 9 and KWBA (The CW Tucson Channel 58), has announced a community partnership project that will donate over $1.5 million annually in media value to local charitable organizations. The announcement was made today by Bobby Rich, Director of Community Partnerships of the Tucson Operations.

“It has been my goal to use our airwaves to strategically make a difference in the community,” said Rich. “Journal Broadcast Group has always made supporting charitable organizations in each of its markets a priority. By combining the efforts of each of our Tucson stations, we can coordinate to bring an even greater awareness to the needs and solutions available in our area.”

Beginning in January 2009, one organization will be selected each month as the Journal Community Partner. A comprehensive media campaign will be created utilizing all Journal Broadcast Group properties to bring needed awareness for those charitable organizations that provide services and resources to the Tucson community.

“As a broadcast group I believe we can do even more than entertain and inform. It’s our responsibility to effect change by nurturing and supporting our community,” Vice President/General Manager of Tucson Operations Julie Brinks explained.

The Journal Community Partner program is over and above the numerous community service efforts that each station supports individually.

To be eligible for consideration applicants must be a 501C-3 non-profit organization, a collaboration of non-profit partners, or a community or corporate foundation.

Applications can obtained by visiting the business office of Mega 106.3 & 104.9 and the Journal Broadcast Group at 7280 E. Rosewood Street, Tucson, Arizona  85710 or contact the Director of Community Partnerships, Bobby Rich at (520) 618-6169.
