I'm originally from the "Great Wet North", Seattle, Washington by way of Los Angeles. I attended the University of Idaho for exactly one extraordinarily cold freshman year (great school, but when it's so cold outside you have to ask yourself how important showing up for class is to your overall grade, it's time to make a change!) After a year of living in a wheat field in the middle of Idaho I transferred to the University of Oregon and then to the University of Arizona where I caught the radio bug and interned at a local station while completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in, what else, Art History. After all, isn't that what all radio people major in?
In 1999, degree in tow, I left radio and the United States to live in Milan, Italy to teach English. Upon returning to the States, I picked up and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in advertising and public relations.
After a couple of years working in PR in L.A. and Phoenix, I went to graduate school at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite Graduate College of Journalism under the guise of actually being interested in furthering my education. Who was I kidding? I wanted to get back into radio!
After my first semester at ASU, I landed a part time job in the promotions department and doing weekend overnights on the air at a station in Phoenix.
In 2004, I ran into my former boss (while an intern) at, of all place, a Van Halen concert. I got a chance to audition to host a night show here in Tucson. Goodbye grad school! I took the gig and eventually moved up to middays. I expanded to doing the aforementioned show in Charleston and weekends in Phoenix.
Now I have the good fortune of bringing you some of the greatest music ever made with a couple laughs (usually at my own expense) mixed in for good measure. See ya this weekend!
