Supporting your local school, church or animal rescue organization just got easier.
Through Bashas' new Shop & Give program, shoppers can donate 1 percent of their grocery purchases to their favorite non-profit. Participating in the Shop & Give program is easy. Bashas' customers simply need to link their Thank You Card to their favorite non-profit organization at any register. Bashas' will then donate 1 percent of the total sales linked to each group, for up to a $5,000 donation. This year's program runs from Sept. 1, 2008 until March 31, 2009, and is available at all 82 Bashas' Supermarkets and Bashas' Dine' stores across the state. "This charitable program is a win-win for both local non-profits and shoppers" said Kristy Nied, director of communications for Bashas' Family of Stores. "There is no cost for customers to participate in the program; it's as easy as linking your Thank You Card at the register and then shopping at Bashas'. Non-profits are thrilled about the program, too - not only has the economy made it especially challenging to fundraise, but we've doubled the maximum amount they can earn through this year's program."
Bob Kahn, fund-raising coordinator for the Saguaro High School Band Boosters, said his group will purchase band instruments and uniforms with the funds earned through Bashas' Shop & Give program. "We've already begun mobilizing our Band Booster families and their friends for the September 1st kickoff" he said. "We appreciate the opportunity to raise money for our band program - and now with Bashas' raising the top earnings to $5,000, we're challenging our families to reach that goal!"
Shoppers can link up to three non-profit organizations to their Thank You Card.
